53 HKU academics named Clarivate's Highly Cited Researchers 2024

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) has achieved the 10th global position among all institutions this year, based on the quantity of academic recognitions, which include those received in various academic disciplines. In addition, 53 academics from HKU have been identified as "Highly Cited Researchers 2024" by Clarivate Analytics.

Hong Kong has progressed to the 8th rank globally among countries and regions this year. HKU is proud to have contributed to this achievement, with 40% of Hong Kong's Highly Cited Researchers being associated with the University, marking the highest representation among local higher education institutions.

Clarivate Analytics reports that a total of 6,636 scholars from 59 countries and regions worldwide have been honored as Highly Cited Researchers in 2024. These researchers are recognized for their outstanding research performance, which is determined by the production of multiple highly cited papers in the top 1% by citations for their respective fields and publication year in Web of Science over the past decade.
